Thomas Rhett’s Concert Helps Rising Star Conner Smith Get Over Ex-Girlfriend

  • by

Conner Smith has recently released his first album called "Smoky Mountains". One of the songs from the album, titled "Creek Will Rise", is gaining popularity and quickly climbing up the country music charts.

However, not too far in the past, the up-and-coming performer was simply an average 16-year-old who attended a concert by one of his beloved country music artists.

During the most recent episode of Taste of Country Nights, available On Demand, Smith shares a personal anecdote about his experience at a Thomas Rhett concert in 2016 that had a significant effect on him.

At the age of 16, I had the opportunity to go on a date with a girl to watch a Thomas Rhett concert. The concert took place at Ascend Amphitheater, and we were seated in the lawn area. During the show, Thomas Rhett performed his popular song "Die a Happy Man," and I remember wanting to slow dance with the girl I was with, trying to create a sweet and romantic moment.

According to Smith, the following day, his girlfriend ended their relationship.

After a moment of laughter, he proceeds to narrate the rest of the story. He mentions that about four years later, he was on tour with Rhett when he had a realization that made him feel triumphant. He expresses this by saying, "I suppose I had the final laugh in that situation, if you catch my drift."

Smith has shared this story on stage multiple times, and it is greatly enjoyed by the audience.

Let's discuss the ultimate form of revenge and validation in a romantic separation.
