Conner Smith has released his first album called "Smoky Mountains" which is currently available. One of the songs from the album, titled "Creek Will Rise," is quickly gaining popularity and climbing up the country music charts.
However, not too far in the past, the up-and-coming talent was simply an average sixteen-year-old who attended a concert by one of his beloved country music artists.
During the most recent episode of Taste of Country Nights, available on demand, Smith shares a personal anecdote about his experience attending a Thomas Rhett concert in 2016 that left a lasting impression on him.
At the age of 16, I had the opportunity to go on a date with a girl to watch a Thomas Rhett concert. The venue was Ascend Amphitheater, and we were seated in the lawn area. During the show, Thomas Rhett performed his popular song "Die a Happy Man." I tried to create a romantic atmosphere by attempting to slow dance with the girl and be affectionate.
Smith explains that the following day, his girlfriend ended their relationship.
We have a moment of laughter, and then he proceeds to tell the rest of the story. He mentions that about four years later, he was on tour with Rhett, and he jokingly says that he ended up having the final triumph in that situation.
Smith has recounted this story multiple times during his performances, and it is highly regarded by the audience.
Let's discuss the ultimate form of revenge and validation during a romantic separation.
