During a recent episode of Taste of Country Nights, Smith shares a personal anecdote about his experience at a Thomas Rhett concert in 2016, which left a significant impression on him.

At the age of 16, I went on a date with a girl to watch a Thomas Rhett concert. The venue was the Ascend Amphitheater, and we were seated in the lawn area. During the show, Thomas Rhett performed his song "Die a Happy Man," and I tried to slow dance with the girl and be affectionate.

According to Smith, the following day, his partner ended their relationship.

After having a good laugh, he proceeds to tell the rest of the story. "About 4 years later, I am on tour with Rhett and I realize that I had the final victory in that situation," he remembers.
