  • by

Conner Smith, a new artist in the country music scene, has recently released his debut album called "Smoky Mountains." One of the songs from the album, titled "Creek Will Rise," is gaining popularity and climbing the country music charts.

Not too far in the past, the up-and-coming talent was an ordinary sixteen-year-old who attended a concert by one of his beloved country music artists.

During the most recent episode of Taste of Country Nights, available On Demand, Smith shares a personal anecdote about his experience at a Thomas Rhett concert in 2016, which left a lasting impression on him.

At the age of 16, I had the opportunity to go on a date with a girl to watch a Thomas Rhett concert. The venue was Ascend Amphitheater, and we were seated on the lawn area. During the show, Thomas Rhett performed his song "Die a Happy Man," and I tried to create a romantic atmosphere by slow dancing with the girl, attempting to be affectionate.

Smith states that the following day, his significant other ended their relationship.

After sharing a moment of laughter, he proceeds to narrate the rest of the story. "About 4 years later, I find myself on tour with Rhett, and I couldn't help but think to myself, 'I guess I had the final victory in that situation,' if you know what I mean," he reminisces.

Smith has shared this story on stage multiple times, and it is well-received by the audience.

Let's discuss the ultimate form of revenge and validation during a breakup.
