At the age of 16, I went on a date with a girl to see a Thomas Rhett concert. The venue was Ascend Amphitheater, and we were seated on the lawn area. During the show, Thomas Rhett performed his song "Die a Happy Man," and at that moment, we attempted to slow dance together, aiming to create a romantic atmosphere.

Smith mentions that she ended our relationship the following day.

We have a moment of laughter, and then he proceeds to tell the story. He mentions that about four years later, he was on tour with Rhett and he thought to himself, "I guess I had the final victory in that situation," if you understand what I mean.
