Thomas Rhett’s Concert Helps Rising Star Conner Smith Heal a Broken Heart

Conner Smith has recently released his first album called "Smoky Mountains". One of the songs from the album, titled "Creek Will Rise", is quickly gaining popularity on the country music charts.

However, not too far in the past, the up-and-coming performer was simply an average 16-year-old attending a concert of one of his beloved country music artists.

During the most recent episode of Taste of Country Nights, Smith shares a personal anecdote about going to a Thomas Rhett concert in 2016 that left a significant impression on him.

At the age of 16, I had the opportunity to go on a date with a girl to attend a Thomas Rhett concert. This particular concert took place at Ascend Amphitheater, and we had seats in the lawn area. During the performance, Thomas Rhett played his popular song "Die a Happy Man," and I tried to create a romantic atmosphere by attempting to slow dance with the girl and be affectionate.

Smith explains that the following day, his girlfriend ended their relationship.

We have a moment of laughter, and then he proceeds to tell the rest of the story. He mentions that about 4 years later, he was on tour with Rhett and he jokingly says, "I suppose I had the final laugh in that situation, if you catch my drift."

Smith has shared this anecdote during his performances on multiple occasions, and it is well-received by the audience.
