Conner Smith has released his first album, titled "Smoky Mountains." One of the tracks from the album, called "Creek Will Rise," is quickly gaining popularity on the country music charts.
Not too far in the past, the up-and-coming talent was just an average sixteen-year-old who attended a concert of one of his favorite country music artists.
During the most recent episode of Taste of Country Nights, available On Demand, Smith shares a personal anecdote about his experience at a Thomas Rhett concert in 2016, which had a profound effect on him.
At the age of 16, I went on a date with a girl to see Thomas Rhett perform live. The concert took place at Ascend Amphitheater, and we were seated on the lawn area. During the show, Thomas Rhett played his song "Die a Happy Man," and I wanted to slow dance with the girl I was with, trying to create a romantic and sweet moment.
Smith mentions that the following day, his partner ended their relationship.
After sharing a laugh, he proceeds to tell the story. He mentions that around four years later, he was on tour with Rhett. At that moment, he had a realization and thought to himself, "I suppose I had the final victory in that situation."
Smith has recounted this story multiple times while performing on stage, and it has become a beloved choice among the audience.
Let's discuss the ultimate form of revenge and validation in a romantic separation.
