Garth Brooks, the famous country singer, was able to influence a professional baseball player to alter his batting stance. Craig Counsell, who is now the manager of the Chicago Cubs, had a successful career as a player in the MLB for over a decade, starting from 1995 and ending in 2007.

After being appointed as the manager of the Chicago Cubs, Counsell participated in the 2024 Cubs Convention, during which he was questioned about the reason behind his previous habit of holding the bat at a high position in the air.
He attributes the fault to Garth Brooks.
According to Counsell, during his time at spring training with the Los Angeles Dodgers, he admits that he was not a skilled hitter and struggled to make any successful hits.
During a spring training game, I successfully hit a powerful hit towards the left field. I felt a surge of excitement as it was my first base hit. With my focus on reaching first base, I sprinted ahead while the crowd erupted in wild cheers. However, when I glanced up, I was stunned to see that Garth Brooks, unexpectedly, had made a remarkable diving catch in left field. Sadly, this incredible play extended my streak of not getting a hit to 0-4.
The people present at the press conference found this story extremely funny.
The following day, I was set free. I had a conversation with myself, pondering why I was unable to achieve any successful hits. This reflection prompted me to raise my hands high up in the air. Surprisingly, this action proved to be beneficial and improved my performance.
