  • by

Conner Smith has recently released his first album, titled Smoky Mountains. One of the songs from the album, called "Creek Will Rise," is gaining popularity and climbing the country music charts.

Not too far in the past, the up-and-coming celebrity was an average teenager of 16 who attended a concert by one of his beloved country music performers.

During the most recent episode of Taste of Country Nights, available on demand, Smith shares a personal anecdote about his experience at a Thomas Rhett concert in 2016 that had a profound effect on him.

At the age of 16, I went on a date with a girl to watch a Thomas Rhett concert. The venue was Ascend Amphitheater, and we were seated on the lawn. During his performance, Thomas Rhett played his song "Die a Happy Man" and at that moment, I attempted to slow dance with her, trying to create a sweet and romantic atmosphere.

Smith explains that the following day, his girlfriend ended their relationship.

After sharing a laugh, he proceeds to tell the rest of the story. He mentions that about four years later, he was on tour with Rhett and realized that he had the final victory in that situation.

Smith has shared this story with the audience multiple times during performances, and it has become a popular choice among the viewers.
