Unveiling the Disrespected: 14 Country Stars Who Deserve More Respect

  • by

There are 14 country stars who we believe should be given more respect. While Dwight Yoakam has often been considered the most disrespected singer in country music, we recently discovered the impressive accomplishments of another iconic country artist.

Yoakam has had very little success at the CMA, ACM and Grammy Awards, with a batting average of only .081 (3 out of 37). However, despite his low average, he has managed to secure three wins. In comparison, the Bellamy Brothers have not been as fortunate.

David and Howard Bellamy, as a duo, have achieved an astonishing record of 0-29 at the three most important country music awards shows. No other country duo has received as many nominations as them in the duo category, yet they have never emerged as winners. Their talent and contributions to the genre have been so widely disregarded that the Taste of Country team did not even include them in their list of deserving artists who have not been inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

It was obvious and logical to assume that they would have arrived by now.

It is possible that you may feel equally upset as we did about this type of disrespect. We suggest utilizing a stress-relieving tool like a squeeze ball, a CBD gummy (if it is legal for you), or any other method that helps you stay calm. The following list consists of 14 artists, who are all considered legacy acts and deserve greater respect.

We will discuss overlooked modern country singers at a later time.

Included in this list are two extremely talented female artists who have achieved legendary status, as well as three well-known and influential groups. It may come as a surprise to some, but Billy Ray Cyrus also makes the cut, despite the expected controversy. The facts and evidence speak for themselves, and it's about time we recognize him and his 13 companions with a little more respect.
