Unsung Heroes: 14 Country Stars Who Deserve More Respect

  • by

There are 14 country stars who should be given more respect. Dwight Yoakam was once considered the most disrespected singer in country music, but we recently discovered another legendary country act with an impressive resume.

Yoakam's batting average at the CMA, ACM, and Grammy Awards is only .081 (3-37), but despite that, he has managed to secure three victories. In comparison, the Bellamy Brothers have not been as fortunate.

David and Howard Bellamy have an astonishing record of 0-29 at the three most important country music award shows. They have received more nominations in the duo category than any other country pair, yet they have never won. Their lack of recognition is so significant that the Taste of Country team did not even include them in their list of deserving artists who are not in the Country Music Hall of Fame.

It appeared to be obvious that they would have arrived by now.

It's possible that you might feel just as upset as we did about this type of disrespect. We suggest using a stress-relief tool like a squeeze ball or a CBD gummy (if it's legal) or any other method you use to stay calm. Below, you'll find a list of 14 artists. This list specifically focuses on legacy acts that deserve greater respect.

We will keep aside the topic of contemporary country singers who are not given enough respect for another discussion.

Included in this list are two highly respected female solo artists and three well-known groups. There is also Billy Ray Cyrus, who may stir up some disagreement among readers. Nevertheless, the facts speak for themselves – it is time to acknowledge him and his 13 companions with greater admiration.
