Underrated Legends: 14 Country Stars Who Deserve More Respect

  • by

There are 14 country stars who should receive more recognition and appreciation. While many think that Dwight Yoakam is the most underrated country singer, we recently discovered the impressive accomplishments of another iconic country artist.

Yoakam's batting average at the CMA, ACM, and Grammy Awards is quite low at .081 (3-37), but surprisingly he still managed to secure three wins. The Bellamy Brothers would certainly wish for similar luck!

David and Howard Bellamy have an impressive record of being nominated for awards at the three major shows, but unfortunately, they have never won. No other country duo has received as many nominations as them in the duo category. Surprisingly, the Bellamy brothers have been consistently overlooked to the extent that the Taste of Country team didn't even include them in their list of deserving artists not in the Country Music Hall of Fame.

This list only features legacy acts that we believe deserve more respect.

We will discuss underappreciated modern country singers at a different time.

Included in this list are two well-known female solo artists and three famous musical groups. Also, Billy Ray Cyrus is mentioned, which might stir up some controversy. Nevertheless, the evidence supports the idea that it is appropriate to give him and his 13 companions a greater amount of admiration and recognition.
