Carroll has been chosen to lead the MIDI Association for a period of two years, a decision made by the executive board of the association. This appointment is significant as it coincides with a crucial moment in the history of MIDI technology, with the recent transition from MIDI 1.0 to the highly anticipated MIDI 2.0. As the new version begins to emerge in various products and software, it is an exhilarating time for individuals involved in the music products and related industries.
The industry and the wider community are expected to greatly approve the appointment of Carroll as the CEO of Focusrite Group. Carroll is a highly respected figure in the industry and Focusrite Group is known for housing renowned synthesizer brands such as Sequential and Oberheim, as well as MIDI controller and synth company Novation.
