For a limited time, you can purchase Future Audio Workshop's SubLab for only $10. Additionally, NUSofting has recently released a free VST plugin called Eugene Filter, which is a simplified version of their paid Eugene Filter plugin that costs €10. This free version is now accessible for both Windows and Mac users to download.
The plugin is available in VST2 and VST3 formats for Windows (64-bit) and in VST3 and AU formats for Mac.
Eugene Filter is a unique audio effect plug-in that features a revolutionary form of low-pass filter known as a cascaded integrator-comb ladder.
The filter possesses self-oscillating qualities that are comparable to the voltage-controlled filters present in virtual analog synthesizers. However, it offers a broader range of resonances.
The unpaid version functions similarly to the Eugene Filter, but it does not include all of the features available in the paid version.
On NUSofting's YouTube channel, there is a video available that presents the Eugene Filter along with its free version. This video highlights the distinctions between the two releases.
According to the developer, NUSofting's cascaded integrator-comb ladder filter possesses a distinctive quality that can be described as airy and resonant, reminiscent of a human voice.
Music producers have the ability to input any sound they desire into the plugin and combine it with the noise that is controlled by the plugin's amplitude. By also incorporating a touch of chorus within the plugin, producers can create unique and fresh sounds from any original sound source.
In addition, the cascaded integrator-comb filter has the option to be substituted (using a switch) with a traditional analog low-pass filter emulation known as a 24dB/octave ladder filter. This alternative provides two choices for low-pass filtering.
The Eugene Filter Free version includes two filters that allow only low-frequency sounds to pass through, a generator that produces noise, a chorus effect that creates a wider stereo sound, the ability to operate in stereo mode, and various controls for adjusting the input volume, output volume, and the balance between
NUSofting, a single-person company, has simplified the download process for Eugene Filter Free. You can easily obtain the Zip file by clicking once, after choosing your desired format.
The paid version of the software includes special features that are not available in the free version. These features include an Envelope Follower, a Random Walk LFO with adjustable Rate and Depth, and a preset selector that allows you to select from a total of four presets.
The Envelope Follower keeps a record of the intensity of the input, while the Random Walk LFO controls the frequency of the filter, creating a range of slow and smooth changes to fast and chaotic fluctuations.
The complete edition of the software also includes the ability to resize the interface, a feature that is not mentioned in the features provided by the free version.
The complete edition offers a wider selection of formats, as the Mac version that requires payment can work with AU, VST2, and VST3.
The plugins are designed to work on both Mac and Windows operating systems, with support for both VST2 and VST3 formats. The Windows version of the plugins is the same as the Mac version, and they are available

When I first downloaded Nusofting's other free plugins, I didn't pay much attention to this particular one since I already have enough filters. However, I was pleasantly surprised by its sound quality. The visual interface may not be very aesthetically pleasing, but I still think it's worth downloading in my opinion.

Who said that there is no pleasure in Eugene?
Well yes, actually.

Hey everyone, you should definitely give the Sinnah unconventional synth a try. I've been aware of it since 2018 and it's incredibly awesome!
