Sound Radix has released Auto-Align 2.1, an innovative audio alignment tool that promises to enhance the audio production process with improved precision and effectiveness.

Auto-Align 2.1 enhances sound quality by eliminating the negative effects of comb-filtering and reducing transient smearing, while also optimizing the phase of each microphone to capture a clear and complete sound. The latest version improves the alignment process by introducing a faster workflow, a new module for correcting spectral phase, an improved algorithm, and a user-friendly interface.

The updated Auto-Align aims to make your work process more efficient. By simply clicking once, Auto-Align 2.1 can align all your microphones at once. This innovative feature saves you time and guarantees that your audio is aligned in terms of timing and phase, leading to better clarity, dimension, and stereo sound.

The Spectral Phase Optimization feature in Auto-Align 2.1 is designed to fix phase shifts that may occur within specific frequency ranges. These phase shifts can negatively affect the audio signal, making it sound less coherent and less rich. When filters are used during recording, different frequency bands may experience different phase shifts, resulting in a distorted and unclear sound. However, with Spectral Phase Optimization, these phase shifts are automatically identified and corrected, ensuring that your audio is perfectly aligned and sounds its best.

The updated version of the software also comes with enhancements to its main algorithm, the option to enable or disable group time alignment, the ability to optimize spectral phase on a track basis, four preset locations for convenient comparison of various configurations, and the capability to export and import alignment settings for a more efficient workflow across different projects.

The release of Auto-Align 2.1 has received positive feedback from experts in the industry. Greg Wurth, a highly acclaimed producer, mixer, and engineer with multiple platinum awards, expresses his astonishment at the capabilities of Auto-Align 2, particularly when applied to drums, bass, or guitar. Similarly, Darrell Thorp, a distinguished engineer who has won the GRAMMY award ten times, includes Auto-Align 2 in his drum plug-in chain for every new mix or song he begins, highlighting its importance in his workflow.

You can currently purchase Auto-Align 2.1 for $199. It can be used on macOS 10.9 or later, as long as you have a 64-bit Intel CPU or Apple Silicon. For Windows users, you will need a 64-bit Intel or AMD CPU and Windows 10 or a newer version. Auto-Align 2.1 is available in various plugin formats, including AAX, Audio Unit, VST3, and ARA2.
