For a limited time, you can purchase Future Audio Workshop's SubLab for only $10. NUSofting has recently released a beta version of their Glitch Pad Synth for Windows, and it is available to the public for free until the end of March.
The public beta version of Glitch Pad is currently accessible in VST2 and VST3 formats for Windows operating systems that are 64-bit.
NUSofting usually releases their plugins for both Windows and Mac, which means that Mac users will likely have access to the software when it is officially launched as version 1.0.
The origins of the plugin can be traced back many years to when the Glitch Pad SynC Modular patch was first released in 2002.
The founder of NUSofting, Luigi, has recently reworked the initial algorithm and created an enhanced oscillator, leading to the development of a brand new VST synthesizer.
The recently released edition of the software is programmed in C++ from the ground up and can be accessed in its preliminary beta version through the developer's website, which is provided as a link below.
The beta version is completely operational and comes with 23 pre-set options.
Luigi has simplified the process of downloading the plugin by enabling users to do so with just one click. There is no need to login or provide any personal information in order to obtain the Zip file.
A video on YouTube has been released, presenting an informal demonstration of the Glitch Pad. The video highlights its unique and nostalgic sound.
The synthesizer would be a perfect fit for genres like ambient, experimental soundtracks, and video game music.
The preset names provide clues about the different styles, such as echo dream, echo pendulum, foggy voices, slow choir, and washed choir.
Upon initial observation, the interface for Glitch Pad contains a plethora of information to absorb.
In terms of appearance and arrangement, there is definitely some potential for improvement. However, considering that it is a free beta version, it is understandable that there may be limitations in what can be expected.
Towards the lower section of the interface, there is a keyboard and a preset selector. Moving upwards, you will find a graphical display showcasing the waveform.
According to the plugin's interface, users can engage in the beta version for a duration of two months until it expires in March 2024.
It remains uncertain whether the Glitch Pad will be offered as a paid product or as freeware following the beta phase, as NUSofting has previously released both paid and free versions of their software.
NUSofting is offering discounts on some of their synthesizers at the moment. If you enjoy the sound of their products, it would be worth exploring their other available options.
It is unclear if the synth will continue to be available for free once the beta period is over.

"You should mention in the title that this plugin is exclusively for Windows"… oh, you already did that. I appreciate it, but unfortunately, it's too late. The individuals commenting about it not working on Apple devices have now become a popular joke within the BPB community.

Just as prevalent as the snobbery among Windows users is the attitude of superiority towards the whole operating system (OS) topic. Although I am not a Mac user, it is clear that the individuals who claim to be above discussing the OS topic are primarily Windows users, and their presence can be observed in the comments.

This thing is quite amusing. It has some interesting concepts, such as the method the pitch envelope functions. It would greatly improve if it had a Low-Frequency Oscillator (LFO) for each of the destinations, as well as additional shapes, including some unconventional ones, to enhance the randomization. Since it's still in beta, it's possible that these features are already being developed. However, if they are not, it would be great to see them added in the future.

That's great! However, I have a complaint. I really miss the feature called "Rewire." I believe that if Rewire was still available, these beginner digital audio workstations (DAWs) would be much more helpful. They would be able to easily work alongside the DAWs we already use. It's crazy to me that as technology advances, something as useful as Rewire is no longer available and hasn't been properly replaced yet. Yes, there are alternatives like Ableton Link or a BlueCat plugin, but Rewire allowed for seamless sending and receiving of MIDI and audio directly from the DAW, without any issues or latency, while keeping everything in sync.
