Get a Sneak Peek of NUSofting’s Glitch Pad Synth in Free Beta for Windows

  • by

For a limited time, you can purchase SubLab by Future Audio Workshop for just $10. NUSofting has recently launched a beta version of their Glitch Pad Synth for Windows, which is available to the public for free until the end of March.

The public beta version of Glitch Pad is currently accessible in VST2 and VST3 formats for Windows operating systems that are 64-bit.

NUSofting usually releases their plugins for both Windows and Mac, which means that Mac users will likely be able to participate when version 1.0 is released.

The plugin can be traced back to the release of the Glitch Pad SynC Modular patch in 2002, which has its roots in several decades ago.

Luigi, the founder of NUSofting, has recently reworked the initial algorithm and developed an enhanced oscillator, which has led to the creation of a brand new VST synthesizer.

The latest edition of the software is programmed in C++ from the ground up and can be accessed in its early beta stage through the developer's website, provided in the link below.

The beta version is completely operational and comes with 23 pre-set options.

Luigi has simplified the process of downloading the plugin, making it effortless with just one click. Users do not need to provide any personal information or log in to access the Zip file.

A distinctive sound with a retro touch is highlighted in an unofficial demo of the Glitch Pad, which can be found on YouTube.

The synthesizer would be a perfect fit for genres like ambient music, experimental soundtracks, and video game music.

The preset names, such as echo dream, echo pendulum, foggy voices, slow choir, and washed choir, suggest different styles that are being alluded to.

When you first look at the interface of Glitch Pad, there is a lot of information and features to absorb.

In terms of appearance and design, there is definitely some potential for improvement. However, considering that it is still in the free beta stage, it is understandable that the features may be limited.

Towards the lower section of the interface, you will find a keyboard and a tool for selecting presets. Just above that, there is a graphical representation of the waveform.

According to the plugin's interface, users will be able to take part in the beta for a duration of two months, with the expiration date set for the end of March 2024.

It is uncertain whether the Glitch Pad will be offered as a paid product or released for free once the beta testing phase is completed. This uncertainty arises from the fact that NUSofting has previously released both paid and free versions of their products.

NUSofting is currently offering discounts on some of their synthesizers. If you enjoy their sound, it might be worth exploring their other products.

It is unclear whether the synth will continue to be available for free once the beta period concludes.

The suggestion to mention in the title that this plugin is only compatible with Windows has already been made. I appreciate it, but unfortunately, it is too late now. The complaints from Apple users in the comment section have become a well-known joke within the BPB community.

There is a certain level of snobbery associated with Windows users. Although I don't use a Mac myself, it is clear that the majority of people who claim to be indifferent towards the operating system debate are actually Windows users. This can be seen from their presence and participation in the comments section.

This is an interesting and amusing tool. It has some great features, such as the way the pitch envelope functions. It would greatly improve if there was a low-frequency oscillator (LFO) for each destination and more diverse shapes, including some unusual ones, to enhance the randomization. Since it is still in the beta stage, it is possible that these improvements are already being considered. However, if they are not, it would be wonderful to see them implemented. 🙂

The Glitch Pad has the ability to produce impressive sounds! Luigi, the developer of Nusofting, has consistently been undervalued despite creating remarkable products. Truly impressive work!

Wow, I agree with you! It's a shame that Rewire is no longer available. I believe that if it was still around, it would greatly enhance the functionality of these "intro DAWs" by seamlessly integrating with our existing tools. It's astonishing that in this era of technological advancements, such a useful feature has not been adequately replaced. Although there are alternatives like Ableton Link or a Bluetooth plugin, Rewire allowed for seamless transmission and reception of MIDI and audio directly from the DAW, ensuring perfect synchronization without any latency issues.
