Get Future Audio Workshop’s SubLab for $10 and NUSofting Releases Free Glitch Pad Synth Beta: Limited Time Offers!

  • by

For a limited time, you can purchase Future Audio Workshop's SubLab for just $10. NUSofting has recently launched their beta version of the Glitch Pad Synth, which is available for free on Windows until the end of March.

The public beta version of Glitch Pad is currently accessible in VST2 and VST3 formats specifically designed for 64-bit Windows operating systems.

NUSofting usually releases their plugins for both Windows and Mac operating systems. Therefore, Mac users can expect to have access to the plugin when version 1.0 is released.

The roots of the plugin can be traced back to the Glitch Pad SynC Modular patch, which was first released in 2002 and has been developed over several decades.

Luigi, the founder of NUSofting, has recently revamped the initial algorithm and developed an enhanced oscillator, ultimately leading to the creation of a brand-new VST synthesizer.

The developer has created a new version of the software using C++ programming language. This early beta version can be downloaded from the developer's website, which is provided as a link below.

The beta version is completely operational and consists of 23 pre-set options.

Luigi has made the process of downloading the plugin very convenient by implementing a one-click system. Users do not need to log in or provide any personal information to obtain the Zip file.

A video on YouTube has been circulating, featuring an unofficial demo of the Glitch Pad. The video demonstrates the unique and nostalgic sound produced by this instrument.

The synthesizer would fit perfectly with genres like ambient, unconventional soundtracks, and video game music.

The preset names such as echo dream, echo pendulum, foggy voices, slow choir, and washed choir give a clue about the different styles that are being suggested.

At first glance, the interface of Glitch Pad appears to be quite overwhelming with a lot of elements to absorb.

In terms of appearance and arrangement, there are areas that could be enhanced. However, considering it is a free beta version, it is understandable that there may be limitations.

Towards the lower part of the interface, you will find a keyboard and a preset selector. Above these elements, there is a graphical display of the waveform.

According to the plugin's interface, users will be able to participate in the beta for a duration of two months, with the expiration date set at the end of March 2024.

It is uncertain if the Glitch Pad will be offered as a paid product or released for free after the beta version, as NUSofting has previously released both paid and free software.

NUSofting has discounted a number of their synthesizers at the moment. If you enjoy their sound, it could be worth exploring their other available products.

It is currently unknown if the synth will continue to be available for free once the beta period concludes.

"You should mention in the title that this plugin is exclusively designed for Windows"… oh, it seems you have already done that. I appreciate it, but unfortunately, it's too late now. The complaints from Apple users in the comment section have become an official inside joke in the BPB community.

Similar to the arrogance observed in Windows users, there is a noticeable trend among individuals who claim to be uninterested in the debate surrounding operating systems. However, it is evident that these individuals are predominantly Windows users, and their presence is equally prominent in the comments section.

This is an interesting and enjoyable thing. It has some good ideas, such as the functioning of the pitch envelope. It would greatly improve if it had a low-frequency oscillator (LFO) for each destination and more varied shapes, including some unusual ones, to enhance randomization. It's possible that these improvements are already being worked on since it is in beta, but just in case they are not, it would be great to see them implemented.

Wow, it's great! But (brace yourself for a rant), I really miss rewire! I believe that if rewire still existed, all these "intro DAWs" would be much more beneficial as they could seamlessly integrate with our current setups. It's unbelievable to me that as technology advances, something so useful has been discontinued and not adequately replaced. Sure, there are alternatives like Ableton Link or a Bluetooth plugin, but rewire allowed for direct MIDI and audio communication between DAWs without any problems or delays, while keeping everything in sync.
