For a limited time, you can purchase SubLab by Future Audio Workshop for only $10. NUSofting has recently launched a beta version of their Glitch Pad Synth for Windows, which is available to the public for free until the end of March.
The Glitch Pad public beta is currently accessible for 64-bit Windows users in both VST2 and VST3 formats.
Typically, NUSofting releases their plugins for both Windows and Mac operating systems, so Mac users can expect to have access to the software when it reaches version 1.0.
The origins of the plugin can be traced back to the release of the Glitch Pad SynC Modular patch in 2002, which occurred several decades ago.
Luigi, the founder of NUSofting, has recently revamped the initial algorithm and created a more advanced oscillator, leading to the development of a brand-new VST synthesizer.
The latest edition of the software is built using C++ programming language and can be accessed in its early beta version on the developer's website, which is provided as a link below.
The beta version is completely operational and consists of 23 pre-established settings.
Downloading the plugin from Luigi is a simple and convenient process. With just a single click, you can obtain the Zip file without the need for any login or providing personal information.
A unique and nostalgic sound of the Glitch Pad can be witnessed on YouTube through an unofficial demo.
The synthesizer would be perfectly suited for genres like ambient music, experimental soundtracks, and video game music.
The preset names give a clue about the different styles, such as echo dream, echo pendulum, foggy voices, slow choir, and washed choir.
When you first look at the interface for Glitch Pad, there is a considerable amount of information and features to absorb.
There is potential for improvement in the visual appearance and arrangement of the content, but considering it is a free beta version, one can only have limited expectations.
Towards the lower part of the interface, there is a keyboard and a preset selector. Above these elements, you will find a graphical representation of the waveform.
According to the plugin's interface, users have a two-month window to take part in the beta testing. The beta version of the plugin will no longer be available after March 2024.
It is uncertain whether the Glitch Pad will be offered as a paid product or as freeware following the beta phase. This uncertainty arises from NUSofting's history of releasing both paid and free products.
NUSofting is currently offering discounts on some of their synthesizers. If you enjoy the sound of their products, it might be worth exploring their other releases as well.
It is currently unknown if the synth will continue to be available for free once the beta period is over.

"Make sure to mention in the title that this plugin is exclusively compatible with Windows"… Oh, you've already done that. I appreciate it, but unfortunately, it's too late. The complaints from Apple users in the comment section have become a well-known joke within the BPB community.

There is a certain level of snobbery associated with being a Windows user. Even though I do not use a Mac myself, it is clear that those who claim to be indifferent towards the operating system debate are typically Windows users. Their presence can be seen in the comments section as well.
I am sorry
This is an interesting little thing. It has some good ideas, such as the way the pitch envelope works. It would be even better if there was a low-frequency oscillator (LFO) for each destination, and maybe some more unique shapes for better randomization. Since it's still in beta, it's possible that these improvements are already being worked on, but just in case they're not… 😀

The Glitch Pad has the ability to produce fantastic sounds! Luigi, the developer at Nusofting, has not received enough recognition for his impressive work. It's truly remarkable!

That's great! However, I really miss the feature called Rewire. I believe that if Rewire was still available, these beginner digital audio workstations (DAWs) would be much more helpful as they could easily work alongside the DAWs we already use. It's unbelievable that as technology advances, such a useful feature is no longer available and hasn't been adequately replaced yet. Although there are alternatives like Ableton Link or a Bluetooth plugin, Rewire allowed for seamless transmission and reception of MIDI and audio directly from the DAW, without any issues or latency, while keeping everything in sync.
