At the age of 16, I went on a date with a girl to watch a Thomas Rhett concert. The venue was Ascend Amphitheater, and we were seated on the lawn. During the show, Thomas Rhett performed his song "Die a Happy Man," and we attempted to slow dance together. I wanted to create a romantic atmosphere and be affectionate with her.
Smith further states that the following day, his partner ended their relationship with him.
After sharing a laugh, he proceeds to tell the story. He mentions that about four years later, he was on tour with Rhett. At that moment, he realizes that he had the satisfaction of having the final laugh in that situation.
Smith has shared this story on stage multiple times, and it is well-received by the audience.
