The Grand Ole Opry is widely considered as the most prestigious stage in country music. For artists, receiving an invitation to perform at this esteemed venue and later becoming an official member is often a significant and cherished milestone in their career.

However, numerous fans of the Opry took to social media to assert that King should be the one apologizing and that her actions were severe enough to justify her being prohibited from performing on the Grand Ole Opry stage.
Throughout the years, there have been multiple cases of artists being banned from the Opry. However, when considering the actions of King, one might wonder if such a severe measure is justified. By examining a few instances that occurred in 1973 or even before that, it becomes evident that his behavior potentially justifies such consequences.
In 1973, Johnny Cash was prohibited from performing at the Opry due to a highly energetic show where he destroyed stage lights using a microphone stand. Alcohol played a significant role in this incident. Hank Williams, one of the most well-known artists banned from the Opry, lost his membership due to his consistent drunkenness and unreliability. Similarly, Jerry Lee Lewis was removed from the Opry stage for various offenses, including the use of profanity during a live broadcast.
However, it is important to note that there is only one singer who has been permanently banned from the Opry, and this decision was not made by the venue itself. Therefore, it is probable that even if King's actions justify a temporary absence from the Opry stage, it is unlikely to have any lasting impact on her ability to perform at the Grand Ole Opry.
